History of Diabetes & Endocrinology Specialists
Diabetes and Endocrinology Specialists began as a practice known as Internal Medicine Associates of Lancaster, Ltd., a professional corporation started by Herbert K. Cooper, Jr. M.D. and John H. Esbenshade, Jr., M.D. Both physicians practiced general internal medicine, but each had their unique interests in diabetes and cardiology, respectively. Charles R. Rost, M.D., a board certified internist and endocrinologist, joined the practice in 1984. In 1996, the practice became Diabetes and Endocrinology Specialists, and was acquired by Lancaster General Medical Group. The practice relocated to the Lancaster General Health Campus in May 1999 and relocated to their new office space in May 2008.
