James Street Closure

James Street Detour Outside Lancaster General Hospital on Nov. 14 & 15

Building construction activity at Lancaster General Hospital will require the temporary closure of part of the 100 block of East James Street on Saturday, Nov. 14, and Sunday, Nov. 15.

An industrial crane, parked on James Street near Duke Street, will be used to lift large equipment onto the roof of the hospital. As a result, all vehicle traffic and parking on James Street, will be prohibited from Duke Street to the center of the hospital’s entrance.

Traffic will be able to travel in both directions along the eastern half of James Street. The intersection of James Street and Cherry Street will be blocked.

Temporary parking will be available to you in the hospital’s James Street Garage on Saturday and Sunday. The garage will be accessible via the hospital’s James Street entrance. Note that the garage is closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. During those hours, you will not be able to access your vehicle.

Lancaster General Hospital sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience this project will cause. If you have any questions regarding the project, please contact John Lines, Director of Public Relations fro LG Health, at 717-468-8303 or jplines@LancasterGeneral.org.
