While we treat children in our inpatient Children's Health Unit with a multitude of illnesses and diseases, some of the more common conditions include:
- Respiratory conditions such as bronchitis, asthma, & pneumonia
- Gastrointestinal and metabolic disorders
- Neurologic disorders, including seizures
- Serious or invasive infections of infants, children, and adolescents
- Serious orthopedic injuries and related bone and joint conditions
- Surgical emergencies, including appendicitis
- Emergency stabilization of critically ill or injured children prior to transfer to tertiary care centers
- Toxic effects of drugs
