Lancaster General Health has an experienced pathology staff with three board-certified cytopathologists who are available for consultations, both internally and with clinicians.

State-of-the-art technology.
Lancaster General Health uses the state-of-the-art Cytyc/Hologic imager for computer-assisted screening. Benefits of the Cytyc/Hologic imager include:

Increased detection rates of squamous intra-epithelial lesion (LSIL – 37% and HSIL – 42%).*
Enhanced quality by providing DNA ploidy analysis on Thin Prep pap smears and guiding the cytotech to the most worrisome cells for further analysis.
