When you experience persistent pain as a result of injury, illness or surgery, Lancaster General Health Pain Management can help you find the best way to control the pain.
Lancaster General Health Pain Management
Our goal is to reduce your pain to an acceptable level and restore your daily functions so that you can return to enjoying everyday experiences of life.
How you perceive your level of pain, your tolerance for pain and your goals will differ from other patients. We work closely with you and your doctor from the start to accurately assess your unique needs and come up with a plan of care that is right for you. What makes our pain management team effective is our emphasis on coordination of care. Our relationship with your doctor doesn’t end with a referral.
We work together throughout your treatment to monitor your progress and make sure your treatment options are individualized for your specific condition. We also encourage involvement of family members who may be involved in your care. Along the way, your pain—as well as your function—will be monitored to ensure your plan of care is effective in maintaining your lifestyle.
Know Your Pain Management Options
Our physicians, who are board certified in anesthesiology and pain management, and our skilled staff are prepared to provide you with the latest and most effective pain management solutions available.
- Spinal Cord Stimulator – An implanted device in the spine used to treat nerve pain from various causes. Patients are assessed, based on established criteria, then undergo a three-day trial with pain relief assessment.
Continuing Your Care
It may take more than our treatments alone to reduce your pain and facilitate recovery. We will help plan the next step in your recovery, whether it is physical therapy, behavioral medicine (biofeedback, clinical hypnosis or relaxation techniques) or, if necessary, surgical intervention.
Our goal is to coordinate a comprehensive treatment plan to ensure the best possible outcome. We will also make referrals and recommendations to community resources as appropriate.
Insurance
Evaluations are billed individually. Most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, cover evaluations. Contact your insurance carrier for specifics on your coverage.
Referrals
A referral from your physician is required prior to assessment and treatment by the pain management team. To schedule an appointment, call Lancaster General Health Pain Management at (717) 544-3197.
