Philosophy of Care
We believe that all our patients deserve top-quality convenient health care with a human touch. That’s why we don’t use a phone answering machine. That’s why our standard for getting an urgent appointment is one business day or less. That’s why we stay on top of the latest developments in medicine. We see health care as our way to serve individual people and their families, person-to-person.

Susquehanna Family Health Center, The Story
Susquehanna Family Health Center was formed in September 1979. Dr. Nelson Lehman and Dr. Gerald Miller were looking to locate in the area. An agreement between the two doctors and St. Joseph Hospital was completed in August 1979 and they started their practice September 4, 1979. Starting out with 15 patients on the first day, the practice has grown from two doctors to six doctors seeing in excess of 100 patients per day.
In August 1981, Dr. Robert Brewer was added as a physician to the growing family practice. Several other physicians worked here in the 1980’s and 90’s, but have since moved on. In 2001, Dr. Mona Jhaveri added her expertise in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics to the practice. Dr Jill Herr joined in January 2005, and Dr. Brian Jones came on board in October 2005 to complete the current physician staffing.
In July 1997, the practice became a part of Lancaster General Medical Group, joining various other practices in the area to form a widespread medical organization to serve all of Lancaster County.
